Recently had faced a problem where Internet access was working but ping to own IP address or any other IP/gateway IP was not working. I was not able to add the PC to domain.
Problem found with symantec firewall. Even after disabling same problem continued. Then removed symantec client security/firewall & re-installed only antivirus component.
This has solved the problem.
